R3i Future Intelligence Lab
The Lab is R3i’s venture studio. It builds decision-intelligence companies for defence, resources and critical infrastructure on one shared core, and releases capital to each company only when it clears its gate.
01 · Why the Lab exists
Valuable science and data rarely fail in the laboratory. They fail in the gap between a working model and a buyer who can rely on it: unclear rights, unvalidated performance, no route through procurement and no one accountable for the company.
The Lab closes that gap. It turns proven intellectual property into companies that defence primes, resource operators and infrastructure owners can buy from, and it holds each one to the same evidence standard before capital is committed.
02 · The studio
Every Lab company starts on the same foundation: the Planet43 intellectual-property estate, measured data lakes with recorded provenance, the AIQAChecker model-assurance standard, and Clearance, the decision framework also used by the R3i DealDesk. Each new company starts further ahead than the last.
Each company then passes the same four gates. Capital is released at a gate, never ahead of it.
Product or models built on the shared core; rights and data provenance confirmed.
The core claim is under independent test: replication, a research partner or a pre-registered pilot.
Certified models and a defined licence; the company is ready to operate on its own.
Paid pilots convert to recurring contracts; outside investors price the company.
Formation
At formation the studio holds 80% of each company and the operating team holds a 20% pool, earned through the gates. A company that misses its gate twice is stopped, and its IP returns to Planet43.
03 · Companies
Each company is stated at its actual stage, never further along than its evidence.
Facility-level water-risk intelligence: physical, regulatory and operational.
Stage: Validate. Backtest under independent replication.
Drilling-decision models for critical-mineral exploration.
Stage: Validate. Models under AIQAChecker.
IP decision intelligence: patent position, freedom to operate and timing.
Stage: Validate. First freedom-to-operate analysis delivered to a portfolio company.
Pipeline
MindSport: an objective measure of cognitive readiness; its gate is a pre-registered defence pilot. Lunar Returns: lunar resource and hazard data for space agencies and primes; its gate is data rights and a design partner. NYX: re-identification for border and security; its gate is counsel review and a data-protection impact assessment. AIComp.ly: evidence for AI governance and the EU AI Act; its gate is a paid proof of concept. Kloutify: executive influence intelligence; its gate is its core index passing AIQAChecker.

04 · Evidence discipline
Every model is quantified against a stated baseline, documented so it can be reproduced, backtested over a stated window and checked for overfitting out of sample. Until it passes AIQAChecker it is counted, not valued. The Lab audits itself before investors do.

Lab companies are formed and held through R3i and its authorised entities, including R3i Studio and R3i-managed vehicles, with related-party positions disclosed and subject to independent valuation review.
